Good day all! How was your Valentine’s Day? Mine was excellent and so very fun. I love spending time with my family. Now that Valentine’s is over it feels like things will get back to normal again…at least until Easter. I had wanted to share this DIY project with you back in January, but it wasn’t meant to be. With life returning to it’s usual level of busyness, this repurposed vintage book planner keeps things organized fabulously.
I love that this repurposed project is completely customizable. You can make a one of a kind creation with a thrifted book, scrapbooking supplies and your imagination. Also I have designed some pages you can print out to fill your planner and keep your schedule organized year after year.
Happy Thursday everyone! It is the end of January, which means spring is coming! Here in Minnesota snow, ice, and winter in general gets old very fast. But there are still a couple months before spring. In the meantime, Valentine’s Day is coming up fast.
Valentine’s Day is just under three weeks away. This is the perfect time to order gifts for all your loved ones. This week I have compiled great gift ideas from Heartland America for all the wonderful people in your life.
For mothers, sisters, best friends, or if you need to drop him a hint here are some great jewelry ideas.
Because jewelry always makes someone feel extra special, especially if received from a loved one.
If you aren’t sure which style to choose, the clean, contemporary style of the circular sterling silver necklace is just right. The understated elegance of this necklace goes with any outfit for the office to a romantic dinner. Matching earring are also available. So you make it a brilliant set that any woman would enjoy.
Oh boy, it’s cold outside! There have been subzero temperatures and snowstorms here in Minnesota. I’m constantly having to bundle up to venture out to get necessities like milk and coffee. I would rather stay inside and make things: particularly on those blizzardy days. For the DIY this week, I decided to make something soft that’s also great for braving the chilly outdoors. This polar fleece scarf is arm knit to create big, fluffy loops of coziness.
Arm knitting is really easy to do and creates a quick, chunky scarf. The “yarn” is made out of polar fleece which won’t fray or pill. The polar fleece makes a super soft scarf to keep you warm and cozy this winter.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic day with family and friends. While you enjoy delicious food, you might already be planning your Christmas shopping. I try to avoid the crazy crowds on Black Friday and shopping on Thanksgiving is not an option. That’s why I enjoy online shopping so much. No near crashes or parking lot mayhem. Heartland America is a great place to start your online shopping. While I was planning my list, I put together some gift ideas for your Christmas list.
First of all, I’m sure you have some kids of all age who have electronics on their wishlist.
Remote control drones are still a hot gadget, and they keep getting better and better. This quadcopter from Playtek comes with a control to plug a smartphone into. So you can experience the flight right from your iPhone® or Android®.
October just flew past, and it’s nearly November. It has officially turned chilly out. Perhaps more than chilly as the weather heads toward the frigid cold of Minnesota winter. Frankly it’s more frightening that winter is nearly here than the fact that Halloween is just a few days away. While I’m prepared for Halloween, I’m not as prepared for winter. Here in Minnesota you do have to actually prepare for winter. Blizzards are not uncommon on Halloween, so I checked out Heartland America to put together a great assortment of products to keep you warm and cozy this winter.
A winter coat is an essential in style and warmth when the cold weather hits.
There is nothing more classic than leather coat. This Black Leather Coat by Vintage Leather is tailored from fine napa leather. It also has diamond quilted lining for warmth and comfort. You should have at least one leather coat, and this one is stylish and cozy.
Happy October everyone! I am thoroughly enjoying sipping some hot tea while looking at the beautiful fall leaves outside my window. It may seem early in October, but I’m starting to get ready for Halloween. I really want to get a head start this year; so I can enjoy time with my family. Costumes may be the most time consuming of my Halloween preparations. I’m not into scary or creepy stuff, but I do love my tea as much as any Victorian. So I decided to embrace my inner Mad Hatter and create an adorable mini top hat as part of my costume this year.
One of the many things that I love about this mini top hat is that it doesn’t take much fabric or trim to make. It turned out so well. So I just had to share it with you. Because who doesn’t need a mini top hat this Halloween? 😀
Hello! How are you? I’m very well, and I had a great vacation. I’m also glad to be back blogging with you. Now Fall has officially began which makes me so happy because fall is my favorite season. Nothing sounds better than snuggling in to enjoy the changing fall weather. It’s time to break out the cozy blankets, sweatshirts, and enjoy the crisp outdoors.
Looking through HeartlandAmerica.com, I found a lot of great products to enhance your autumn experience. I put together a few collections of awesome items that I hope you enjoy.
Let’s start making your home cozy and comfortable.
Here is a stylish place to set down your hot coffee with a Cherry Side Table. The lovely turned legs add traditional style and the drawer will keep your remotes in one place.
Are you ready for fall yet? I can’t wait! I’m kinda over summer. If you have a student going into college, they are experiencing a mixture of excitement and nerves. The thought of living in the dorms is especially fun and a bit scary. When I was in college, my roommate and I made our room one of the cutest on that floor. Making the dorm room a comfy oasis is a must for students that are away from home. But that can get expensive, so this week I decided to do a budget decor DIY for any dorm room or bedroom.
These pillows can be made very cheaply or even free. You can customize these t-shirt pillows for anyone with the right shirt. I am currently on a t-shirt pillow making spree, as you can see. They are fun to make, and you can make your own in less than an hour.
Mother’s Day is just a little over a week away! You know what that means…shopping! I love shopping for and giving gifts. Finding that perfect gift that you know the other person will love is such a thrill. I can’t wait to find that special something that will make my mom’s face light up.
Heartland has a great selection of products that would make a perfect Mother’s Day gift.
I decided to put together a few boards to help me decide what would be best for my mom. I hope these ideas will help you find the perfect gift for your mother. Or if you are a mother, you can direct your loved ones to these great gift ideas.
Jewelry is always a lovely gift for any mother. Here are some great ideas to add some sparkle and bling to your mom’s special day.
Diamonds always make a breathtaking gift. This 1/4 carat diamond tennis bracelet is a beautiful gift that will bring out a sparkle in your mom’s eyes.
If your mother is more traditional, there is nothing more lovely and timeless than a pearl necklace. It will add an elegant touch to any wardrobe.
I can’t believe it’s already the end of February. It feels like it was just Valentine’s Day although right now it feels like spring with wonderfully warm unseasonable temps here in Minnesota. I long to put away my winter boots and heavy coats and bring out cuter jackets, but it’s really not an option yet since you never know what the weather is going to do here.
With Valentine’s Day, New York Fashion Week, and the Oscars all happening in the month of February, I’ve been feeling like I need to work on my personal style. But I don’t want to shell out major money for a new wardrobe, I’d rather use what I have on hand and make something unique and very me.
I enjoy vintage looks, and I’m an avid reader. (I’ve been known to stay up till 3am to finish the book I started that evening. That’s why I don’t start a book on a weekday.) I also have a collection of vintage books that I just like the look of, and although they look great sitting on my coffee table I’m starting to get a surplus of vintage but not interesting books. I love the book purses that I’ve seen online, but I carry around too much to fit into one of those. I realized that everything doesn’t have to fit into one, but it can make a charming makeup bag.
It turned out so well I wanted to share it with you so that you can make one for yourself. Because smart is the new sexy. 😉
