Hello everyone! I hope the weather where you are has been enjoyable, at least some of the time. Our weather in Minnesota is persists in being unpredictable. But that’s how it usually is. It is nice springy one day, and then it’s frosty winter the next. I’m already tempted to start cleaning, but with snow in the forecast I’ll just have to start preparing. This week I have some ideas of what you will need for your spring cleaning.
No matter the work need outdoors, here are some great tools to get the job done.
Clean up your patio, driveway, and garage floor with a Sun Joe electric leaf blower. With two speed that produce up to 215 mph wind speed, you can blast through those dead leaves and debris that you missed in the fall.
October just flew past, and it’s nearly November. It has officially turned chilly out. Perhaps more than chilly as the weather heads toward the frigid cold of Minnesota winter. Frankly it’s more frightening that winter is nearly here than the fact that Halloween is just a few days away. While I’m prepared for Halloween, I’m not as prepared for winter. Here in Minnesota you do have to actually prepare for winter. Blizzards are not uncommon on Halloween, so I checked out Heartland America to put together a great assortment of products to keep you warm and cozy this winter.
A winter coat is an essential in style and warmth when the cold weather hits.
There is nothing more classic than leather coat. This Black Leather Coat by Vintage Leather is tailored from fine napa leather. It also has diamond quilted lining for warmth and comfort. You should have at least one leather coat, and this one is stylish and cozy.

I’ve been enjoying time outside and time with my family, and I’m always on the lookout for new things that will help my summer go even better. I decided to look through what Heartland America has to offer and I wanted to share some of the great products that I found with you.

Hello everyone! Are you ready for the 4th of July? I am nearly ready: just a couple of things left to finish up. I’m looking forward to the parades, fireworks, food, and patriotic fun with my family. Have you been enjoying the red, white, and blue soda floats from last week? I have soda and ice cream stocked in my fridge for the fourth. But as I was looking around my home, I discovered it needed a bit of American flair. I really enjoy twinkle lights and have them throughout my home. I decided to make mini shades for them and they turned out adorably!
I love them and I am planning to make more to go with my everyday decor. They are really easy and cheap to make for any decor or celebration.
Not only is Father’s Day this Sunday, but International Picnic Day is this Saturday! So why not celebrate them both with a fun picnic for Father’s Day. Ok so a Father’s Day Picnic, great idea right? Just one small problem…I don’t have a picnic basket. I don’t want one of those tiny baskets either because it doesn’t leave room for a blanket or more than two beverages. So I do what I usually do, head to the thrift store to find one. While I didn’t find a picnic basket, I found what I need to make a picnic basket just the way I want.
Just by using a bit of spray paint and some belts you can turn a bland but nice sized basket into a charming addition to any picnic.
I can’t believe that Father’s Day is less than two weeks away! Sometimes it is difficult to decide what to buy for my dad because he has so many skills and hobbies. I get my creativity from both my parents, but I think the urge to “just go for it and make things happen” comes from my dad. 🙂
With so many hobbies and pastimes to choose from, I made some inspiration boards from items offered by Heartland America. There is so much to choose from that finding the perfect gift for Father’s Day will be easy.
By using these boards, I hope you can find great gifts to celebrate the dad’s in your life this Father’s Day as well.
Here are some Father’s Day gift ideas for those dads who love playing in the great outdoors.
Perfect for privacy when your family is camping or a place to change at the beach, the Stansport Privacy Shelter is wind and rain resistant and sets up in just minutes.
The TrekHD Camcorder is not only great at capturing outdoor memories but it’s waterproof so he can record the fun not only on the water but in the water as well.
It feels like summer has already arrived here in Minnesota, but the unofficial start of summer is this weekend, Memorial Day! While I can’t wait to enjoy the day off with my family, I know it’s important to remember the true meaning of this important American holiday.
What started as Decoration Day after the Civil War didn’t become Memorial Day officially until after World War II to honor all the fallen men and women of America’s Armed Forces. In cemeteries all across the nation, graves will be decorated with flowers and flags to honor those who gave everything to protect the freedom we all enjoy. Flags will also fly at half-staff to remember the sacrifice of those brave soldiers and raised at noon to remind us all that it’s up to us to make sure that their sacrifice wasn’t for nothing.
While this is a sobering holiday, it’s also important to enjoy the freedom that American soldiers have been protecting for over 230 years. Awesome parades and family fun will be happening all over America. Even if you don’t have a big parade near you, it’s always great to get outside with your family. Have a picnic, play some games, and enjoy the day off.
If you need an idea for a fun Memorial Day activity to do with your family, why not have a scavenger hunt?
Mother’s Day is just a little over a week away! You know what that means…shopping! I love shopping for and giving gifts. Finding that perfect gift that you know the other person will love is such a thrill. I can’t wait to find that special something that will make my mom’s face light up.
Heartland has a great selection of products that would make a perfect Mother’s Day gift.
I decided to put together a few boards to help me decide what would be best for my mom. I hope these ideas will help you find the perfect gift for your mother. Or if you are a mother, you can direct your loved ones to these great gift ideas.
Jewelry is always a lovely gift for any mother. Here are some great ideas to add some sparkle and bling to your mom’s special day.
Diamonds always make a breathtaking gift. This 1/4 carat diamond tennis bracelet is a beautiful gift that will bring out a sparkle in your mom’s eyes.
If your mother is more traditional, there is nothing more lovely and timeless than a pearl necklace. It will add an elegant touch to any wardrobe.
Spring is in full swing here in Minnesota, the backyard is calling me…and telling me it needs some new decor and more cleaning (like picking up sticks which I hate doing). So I will leave the sticks for another day and focus on making things pretty. Winters can be exceptionally harsh here in good old Minnesota and most things left outside tend to rust or disintegrate. While having a wonderful backyard is a major priority for me, the only things I leave outside are either created for the outdoors or things that I don’t really care if they get wrecked.
So when it came to lighting my backyard table, I needed something that would last outside, but I also needed it to be inexpensive. I have seen a lot of adorable outdoor chandeliers with solar lights instead of using regular lights. This is an idea that I can get behind, but a traditional chandelier doesn’t really go with my decor. So with a lot of help from my dad, I was able to create a rustic mason jar outdoor chandelier with solar lights.
I love how it doesn’t necessarily look like a solar chandelier. The mason jars and wood really give this chandelier the “look” I was going for and will also withstand the unpredictable Minnesota weather.
This outdoor mason jar chandelier DIY has lots of rustic charm, it doesn’t require a lot of supplies, you can make in one afternoon, and it’s even solar powered.
